It’s also part of the CMU Simon Initiative ( @ SimonInitiative ), named for the late Nobel and Turing prize winning professor Herbert Simon, which harnesses a cross-disciplinary approaches to measurably improve student learning outcomes. LearnLab consists of a unique collection of learning tools and content, designed to be engaging, fun, collaborative and interactive, while also giving educators unique insight into new types of assessment.

LearnLab's 7th annual LearnLab Corporate Partners Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 18 and Friday, May 19, 2017 at Carnegie Mellon University. This year’s theme is “Carnegie Mellon University’s Learning Engineering Ecosystem” with the underlying goal to accelerate technology transfer from our university into industry. LearnLab receives funding through grants and through CMU's Simon Initiative, a program that takes a cross-disciplinary approach to measurably improving student learning outcomes.
